Yellowstone-Tetons Fall 2009
Our annual fall trip to Yellowstone and Teton National Parks was a great challenge this year. At the beginning of our trip we encountered above normal temperatures for the time of the year. The weather did finally change for the latter part of our trip with temperatures dropping into the 30's with a little snow. Our temperatures ranged from a high of 80 degrees to a low of 11 degrees There was very little wildlife movement. Most of the larger animals; bears, wolves and elk were still in the higher and cooler elevations of the park. On top of the warm temperatures, we encountered several wildfires in both parks. Some roads were closed and visibility was very poor. Since we had some family members with us that had never been to the park, we did more sight seeing than we normally do. Overall, we did manage to have a fairly successful photo shoot. If you stay with it, you can always manage to find something to photograph.
